SPAM on Gallery.. Jerks!
Well, I know that it will be happened sooner or later but I started getting comment spam on my Ruang Gambar Sayap Timur . A lot of it was porn related and of course advertisement links 
.Then I had to find a solution or stop allowing comments (and I don’t want to stop allowing the comments in my Gallery). One of the many cool features of Coppermine is that I can have email notification for most anything that happens in my gallery such as comments being added. So I was able to delete them as soon as they appear but several times a day is ridiculous. And I don’t have those much time only to deleted unimportant comments every minutes.
So off I go to search trough google and found the Coppermine forum to see if anyone had posted a way to stop spam on Coppermine. There it is by Abbas Ali titled Captcha (Visual Confirmation) for adding comments.
Basically to verify that you are a real person who’s adding a comment, user will be required to enter text exactly as shown in an image in the text box provided and if the text entered by the user doesn’t match with text shown on the image then the comment won’t be added.
And then. in couples of minutes… walla!!!… I had the fix installed and running prefectly… so, take that you jerks! Many thanks to Abbas for this great contribution.
